Quintiles Recognized Among 'Best Companies to Work For' in Brazil

Also Named as a "Best Place to Work" Around the World

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Quintiles has been recognized by the Great Places to Work(R) (GPTW) Institute as one of the top 100 "Best Companies to Work For" in Brazil. The 2008 rankings were recently published by the weekly news magazine Epoca, one of the most widely read publications in the country.

Earlier this year, Quintiles was also named to the GPTW Institute's "Best Workplace" rankings in India, Ireland and France. Quintiles' Innovex operations were named to "Best Workplace" lists in the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland and Italy for 2008. Additionally, Quintiles was named to Computerworld Magazine's list of the "100 Best Places to Work in IT" in the United States.

Quintiles was cited as "The Best Company for Promoting Employees" in the GPTW survey for Brazil. The Great Place to Work Institute survey ranked Quintiles highly in the following categories in Brazil:

-- Best companies for promoting employees -- 1st

-- Companies with the largest percentage of women -- 3rd

-- Companies who provide opportunities to young staff -- 8th

-- Companies opening the largest number of positions -- 9th

-- Companies with largest number of employees with higher levels of

education -- 9th

This is the first time Quintiles has made the Brazilian list since the Institute's awards began there in 1997. Quintiles' operations in Brazil are located in Sao Paulo with a team of 165 people providing product development services such as project management, clinical trial monitoring, regulatory affairs and clinical trial laboratory services.

Each year, the Great Places to Work(R) Institute helps produce annual "Lists of Best Workplaces" in 30 countries around the world, gathering data from more than 3,000 companies.
