FRANKLIN, Tenn., Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Spheris has been selected as the first awarded supplier of medical transcription technology and services by Provista, one of the nation's leading group purchasing organizations. Under the parties' agreement, Spheris will provide Provista customers with a full range of clinical documentation technologies in addition to industry-leading outsource services.

"We're excited about our relationship with Spheris and to be able to offer our customers quality medical transcription technology and services from one of the clear leaders in the industry," said Russell Hall, vice president of operations for Provista.

Provista serves more than 10,000 health care and education organizations nationwide, providing solutions to help its customers improve financial performance.

With a global network of 5,500 medical language specialists providing 24- hour service, 365 days a year, Spheris believes its blended approach of service and technology is unique in the clinical documentation industry. Spheris offers a comprehensive, customizable platform for clinical documentation technologies that is available as a stand-alone solution or can be combined with either full or partial outsourcing.

The agreement allows Provista customers to receive preferred pricing on the Spheris Clarity(TM) platform for clinical documentation.
