Probiotic-Enriched Instant Chai Latte and Teas to be Launched by Ganeden Biotech and Tipton Mills
Date:6/17/2012

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) June 15, 2012

Ganeden Biotech®, a recognized world leader in the manufacturing and marketing of probiotics, announced today that its industry leading probiotic GanedenBC30® has been selected by Tipton Mills for use in their private label and direct to consumer instant chai lattes, lattes, cappuccinos, and teas in various flavors.

Tipton Mills will unveil its new line of GanedenBC30® probiotic-enriched chai latte and hot and cold teas at the Fancy Food Show, June 17-19, 2012 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C., Booth #1704. Samples will be available for tasting.

“A lot of our products are heat sensitive. This particular probiotic, GanedenBC30, thrives in a heated environment,” said Tim Sheehy, CEO of Tipton Mills. “GanedenBC30 is a very unique probiotic that has demonstrated its ability to support digestive and immune health and we’re excited to be able to offer this benefit to our clients.”

While most strains of good bacteria need to be refrigerated or vacuum packed to maintain stability, GanedenBC30 can be included in a variety of foods and beverages such as breads and muffins, nutrition bars, yogurt, ice cream, protein powder, and even chocolate.

GanedenBC30 has a naturally occurring layer of organic material that protects the genetic core of the bacteria. This protective layer provides the probiotic with the ability to survive extreme temperatures involved in food and beverage manufacturing processes, shelf life, stomach acids and intestinal bile. Other probiotics, such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium, are unable to form this protective layer, making it more difficult for them to reach the gut where they can provide a benefit.

“The many inherent physical properties of GanedenBC30 make it superior to traditional probiotic organisms and as a result we’re breaking into a number of new products and markets,” said Mike Bush, Vice President of Business Development, Ganeden Biotech. “Together, with Tipton Mills, we’ll be offering the first instant probiotic coffee – the perfect way to obtain a daily dose of probiotic in something that most adult Americans enjoy every day.”
