PosturePulse, A Biofeedback Posture-Improving Belt, Improves Posture While Sitting or Standing
Date:8/26/2014

NEW YORK, Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The crowdfunding campaign for PosturePulse, a biofeedback posture-improving belt, is in full effect on the popular crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. Backers have already pledged over $7,700 to show their support for the biofeedback belt. The $75,000 funding goal for the campaign was set in order to mass-produce and distribute the product.

PosturePulse is a small device worn on the lower back that silently vibrates if the wearer slouches for more than seven seconds. Using an accelerometer, the same kind of motion-accurate chip used in gaming controllers and cell phones, PosturePulse takes several measurements per second to determine the precise angle of the wearer's back. When continuously worn, this feedback belt coaches users to always sit or stand upright.

"When designing PosturePulse, I knew it had to be something functional and fashionable," said Crystal Butler, creator of PosturePulse. "I wanted to create a simple way for people who cared about health to improve their lifestyle while working without sacrificing comfort or discretion."

The reasons to value good posture are endless. It's not only aesthetically pleasing, but also aligns vital organs and allows for improved long-term health. As society becomes more technologically dependent, it becomes increasingly important for people to demonstrate good posture while sitting in front of computers for the majority of the day. PosturePulse is unique in that it can be worn at all times and remain virtually unnoticed, but it can also attach to standard desk chairs to monitor posture during long periods of sitting.

PosturePulse is now crowdfunding on Kickstarter for a 35-day campaign ending on September 17, 2014. Backers can receive their own PosturePulse for only $79. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/PosturePulseKS.
