PlaqueTec als Unternehmen ist nun auf Wachstum ausgerichtet - dem Aufbau von Partnerschaften mit Pharma- und Geräteunternehmen im Bereich der Erforschung und Entwicklung von Produkten für Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen. PlaqueTec wurde im Jahr 2008 als Spin-Out aus dem Innovationszentrum von PA Consulting, Melbourn, Cambridge gegründet.  Mit Mitteln aus IPEX Capital investierte das Unternehmen in die Entwicklung und Konstruktion des Liquid Biopsy Systems zur Entnahme biologischer Proben aus dem erkrankten Herzkranzgefäß. PlaqueTec verfügt über ein starkes Netzwerk von führenden wissenschaftlichen Beratern und Ärzten und arbeitet insbesondere in enger Partnerschaft mit dem Papworth Hospital zusammen, wo das Unternehmen ansässig ist.
