He has extensive experience in developing parenteral products; oral tablets, capsules, and liquids; nebulizer products; dry powder inhalers; and topicals. His experience covers product processing from bench top to commercial manufacturing where he has developed processes for emulsification, powder milling, steam sterilization; aseptic manufacture; lyophilization; and separation of proteins.

Dr. Rehlaender's analytical expertise is primarily in solids characterization, including differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, dynamic vapor sorption, powder flow measurement, and particle sizing using laser diffraction, photon correlation spectroscopy; electrozone sensing, and light obscuration.
