Date:11/28/2008

Jim Miller, president of PharmSource Information Services Inc., leads a videocast discussion with top executives on the benefits and challenges of outsourcing pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing to Asia.

(PRWEB) November 28, 2008 -- At the 2008 AAPS annual convention in Atlanta, Georgia, Jim Miller, president of PharmSource Information Services Inc., moderated a panel entitled "Outsourcing to India and China," which explored the challenges and benefits of outsourcing pharmaceutical research and development and manufacturing to Asia.

Now available as a videocast, the event was sponsored by Pharmaceutical Technology magazine as part of its "PharmTechTV - Live from 2008 AAPS" program. Two esteemed panelists participated: Timothy Tyson, executive chairman and acting CEO at Aptuit and Dr. Wouter Huizinga, senior director, sales and business development at Dr. Reddy's Custom Pharma Services. The discussion centered on how to achieve balance between exploiting the benefits of outsourcing to Asia, such as cost and speed, while mitigating potential risks, such as IP protection and geographic distance.

The videocast was filmed live on the exhibition floor at AAPS 2008 on November 18, and can be viewed online at http://pharmtech.findpharma.com/pharmtechtv.
