PathoGenetix to Present Strain Typing Technology and Research Results for Salmonella and Pathogenic E. coli at IAFP
Date:7/25/2013

e Scanning works from complex mixtures or from pure culture isolates, and automates the identification process from sample preparation through data analysis to provide actionable information in five hours. GSS is a breakthrough in microbial identification with broad applicability in food safety, research, industrial microbiology and clinical diagnostics. The RESOLUTION Microbial Genotyping System is the first commercial application of GSS technology, and will be available in 2014 for use in food safety testing and foodborne illness outbreak investigation. PathoGenetix has an agreement to place a beta instrument with one government collaboration partner, and is in discussion with other potential government and industry beta evaluation sites. Performance testing and submission to AOAC of the instrument, assays and protocols is planned for 2014.

The IAFP Annual Meeting provides information on current and emerging food safety issues, and is the leading food safety conference worldwide. PathoGenetix will exhibit the RESOLUTION System at IAFP beginning on Sunday, July 28, at 7:30 PM and continuing through Tuesday, July 30, at 6:00 PM. For more information or to schedule a demonstration of the technology, email info(at)pathogenetix(dot)com.

PathoGenetix research detailing the serotyping and strain typing capabilities of Genome Sequence Scanning in a variety of matrices will be presented at IAFP in two poster sessions on Tuesday, July 30, and Wednesday, July 31. For a full schedule of educational sessions and events at the 2013 IAFP Annual Meeting, visit http://www.foodprotection.org/annualmeeting/2013/.
