OriGene Announces 37,000 ORF cDNA Clones in a GFP Vector
Date:10/31/2008

ROCKVILLE, Md., Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- OriGene Technologies, Inc. announces its flagship products, TrueORF cDNA clones, are available now in a GFP (green fluorescence protein) vector, enabling easy transfection monitoring and protein expression. With this launch, over 25,000 human ORF (open reading frame) clones and 12,000 mouse ORF clones can be ordered in pCMV-tGFP vector.

In early October, the 2008 Nobel Prize in chemistry was awarded to the three scientists who discovered GFP protein. They are Drs. Martin Chalfie of Columbia University, Roger Y. Tsien of the University of California at San Diego, and Osamu Shimomura of the Marine Biology Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA. It is because of their outstanding work in discovering and developing GFP that we are able to turn GFP into a powerful tool for protein expression and cellular biology. With comprehensive TrueORF cDNA clones, researchers can now co-express specific gene with GFP to monitor protein expression level, detect exact cellular location, and study protein-protein interaction. As a leading full length cDNA clone provider, OriGene is committed to providing expanded utilities for these clones in life science research and drug discovery.

About OriGene
