Strategic market research partner to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology

industries strengthens specialist expertise

BOSTON, Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Observant LLC has announced the appointment of two senior executives with a passion for research excellence and a commitment to client service. John Hartman, Ph.D., a social scientist and statistician, has joined the firm as Vice President. Dr. Hartman's research has focused on the mathematical analysis of cross-national healthcare data; and his programming work has emphasized how best to present the complex relationships he uncovers to his clients in intuitive visual forms that are business actionable. Advances in computational power and statistical methodology have dramatically changed the ways in which data are analyzed and displayed, but such methods cannot be applied in a rote, unthinking manner. As Dr Hartman notes, "Real gains can be made in the way we display the results of our quantitative analyses. Many of the current visual displays fail to show variations in the precision of our estimates or how a subset of respondents may possess very different attitudes from the larger sample." Dr. Hartman believes that it is important to bear in mind that it's the creative mixture of therapeutic category expertise and rigorous data analysis that yields business critical insights.
