Nyenrode Honorary Doctorate for Professor Michael E. Porter

BREUKELEN, The Netherlands, February 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Nyenrode Business Universiteit has awarded a Honorary Doctoral degree to Professor Michael Porter, icon in the field of microeconomics, competitive strategy and cluster theory. Professor Porter is generally considered as the father of the modern field of strategy and the world's most influential thought leader in the field of management and competitive strategy. Professor Porter will receive the Honorary Doctorate on Wednesday May 13, in Breukelen. Earlier that day he will take part in the official opening of the Nyenrode Institute of Life Sciences and Healthcare and will give a short lecture on the Dutch Biotech Cluster. Professor Porter's promotor is Professor Dr. Fred van Eenennaam, Director of the Nyenrode Strategy Center and chairman of the Nyenrode Institute of Life Sciences and Healthcare. Professor Porter has a longstanding relationship with Nyenrode and the Nyenrode Strategy Center led by prof. dr. Fred van Eenennaam.
