Date:9/16/2010

PRINCETON, N.J., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Novo Nordisk Inc. has been selected as a Working Mother 100 Best Company for being one of the nation's top companies for family-friendly benefits. Earlier this year, the company was recognized as one of FORTUNE's "100 Best Companies to Work For" and NJBiz's "Best Place to Work in New Jersey."

The 100 Best Companies' family programs adeptly help employees in all areas of their lives. Novo Nordisk's recognition can be attributed in part to programs that include support to help families balance work-life needs including: personal, emotional, financial, education, professional, and individual needs. In addition to offering adoption reimbursement, back-up care, concierge services, highly subsidized health benefits and generous paid time off, the company also provides unique programs like College Coach, which assists employees and their families with educational challenges including selecting, applying to, and financing college.

"It is an honor to be named as a Working Mother 100 Best Company," said Jeff Frazier, vice president of human resources, Novo Nordisk Inc. "This recognition shows our commitment to support a diverse and inclusive work environment, where everyone has an opportunity to participate in creating business success and people are valued for their unique skills, experiences and perspectives."

"Twenty-five years ago, we made a bold decision to launch our Best Companies initiative and challenge businesses to address the unique needs of working mothers," said Carol Evans, President, Working Mother Media. "The immense influx of women into the workforce demanded changes in workplace culture as companies strove to keep working moms' talent and loyalty. Today, we celebrate our winners' untiring commitment to their employees through an impressive array of programs."
