NovaMin Technology Inc. (NTI) announced that Henry "Pete" Linsert, Jr. has joined its Board of Directors.

Alachua, FL (PRWEB) September 16, 2009 -- NovaMin Technology Inc. (NTI) announced that Henry "Pete" Linsert, Jr. has joined its Board of Directors.

Mr. Linsert is President and CEO of Columbia Biosciences Corporation which he founded in 2007 to develop new uses for algal fluorescent proteins and new purification technology to improve the performance of proteins in general and antibodies in particular, for therapeutics, diagnostics and biochemical reagents. He is one of the three 2009 inductees in the Space Technology Hall of Fame. He currently serves as a member of The National Academies committee on Capitalizing on Science, Technology, and Innovation.

Prior to Columbia, Mr. Linsert was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Martek Biosciences from 1989 to 2006. As CEO he took a small private R&D company to a profitable public company with a market capitalization of over $1 Billion. In 2006 he retired as CEO, remaining as Chairman until mid 2007. In 2006 he also received the Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year" Life Sciences Award for the Washington, DC area and was a national runner-up for the same category.

Prior to Martek he served as President of American Technology Investments Corporation and President/CEO of Suburban Capital Corporation, both venture capital firms. He was also a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. He received an M.A. in economics from George Washington University in 1970 and a B.A. in economics from Duke University in 1963.
