New Glycobiology Analysis Manual 2nd Edition Provides Valuable Resource for Novices and Experts in the Field

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sigma-Aldrich(R) (Nasdaq: SIAL) announced the release of the Glycobiology Analysis Manual, 2nd Edition: Tools for Glycoproteomics and Glycomics, a laboratory reference for life science (http://www.sigma.com/glycobook).

The new 2008 Glycobiology Analysis Manual expands beyond the Glycoprotein Analysis Manual 1st edition (2004) by including more topics important to the areas of glycoproteomics and glycomics. This second edition contains innovative products, including GlycoProfile(TM) FLAG(R) Phosphine and azido labeled sugars (http://www.sigma.com/azidopr) for metabolic labeling of carbohydrate structures, enzymes and substrates for glycan synthesis.

New subjects in the manual include cellular components, such as heparin and chondroitin sulfate, and bacteria-specific lipopolysaccharides and peptidoglycans. Extensive tables of reagents for detection labeling, analysis methods, and enzymes are presented along with appropriate technical references. The new Glycobiology Analysis Manual contains the largest selection of products available from a single source for glycobiology research.
