Neue Forschungsergebnisse zeigen Verbindung zwischen suboptimaler Asthmaversorgung und Patienteneinstellungen in Europa auf

rpflichtung hat Mundipharma die REALISE-Umfrage finanziert, mit der die Einstellungen von Patienten zu ihrem Asthma und ihrer Gesundheit allgemein, die Inzidenz von Asthmakontrolle und -symptomen, die Wirkung der Krankheit im täglichen Leben der Patienten, die Beziehungen zum medizinischen Personal beim Asthmamanagement und die benutzen Informationsquellen zu Asthma festgestellt werden sollten. Die in Partnerschaft von Mundipharma International und europäischen Asthmaexperten durchgeführte REALISE-Umfrage wurde online mit 8000 Asthma-Betroffenen in 11 Ländern durchgeführt, nämlich Belgien, Deutschland, Finnland, Frankreich, Großbritannien, Italien, den Niederlanden, Norwegen, Österreich, Spanien und Schweden. Die Teilnehmer waren 18-50 Jahre alt, laut eigener Auskunft ärztlich auf Asthma diagnostiziert und Empfänger von mindestens zwei Verschreibungen für Asthma in den letzten beiden Jahren. Zusätzlich mussten alle Teilnehmer in sozialen Medien aktiv sein und durften in den letzten drei Monaten nicht an Marktforschungsstudien teilgenommen haben. Erste Resultate der Umfrage wurden am Weltasthmatag 2013 bekannt gegeben.[1]

Asthma ist ein ernstes Gesundheitsproblem, dass in Westeuropa rund 30 Millionen Menschen betrifft.[4] Patienten mit schlecht versorgtem Asthma haben ein höheres Risiko für Verschlimmerung, Krankenhausbehandlung und Tod. Schlecht versorgtes Asthma kann außerdem erhebliche Auswirkungen auf die Lebensqualität und Alltagsaktivitäten haben.
