Netsmart Software Instrumental in Dickinson Mental Health Center's Ability

to Track and Report on Key Metrics

GREAT RIVER, N.Y., Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Netsmart Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise-wide software and services for health and human services organizations, today announced that Netsmart customer Dickinson Mental Health Center ranked in the Top 10 of 81 Pennsylvania behavioral healthcare agencies in the Pennsylvania Community Providers Association (PCPA) Benchmarking Initiative.

"Using Netsmart's CMHC/MIS software, we are able to take manual data processes, customize the software from Netsmart, and at the touch of a button collect the data we need," said Heidi Thomas, CPA, chief fiscal officer for Dickinson Mental Health, which is located in Ridgway, Pa. and provides a wide range of mental health and mental retardation related services to residents of Elk, Cameron, Potter and McKean counties.

In its second year, the PCPA Benchmarking Initiative encompasses a total of 37 benchmark areas of clinical, financial and operational performance in reporting of approximately 100 metrics, including areas like annual number of outpatient counseling service hours, access to services, days of cash on hand, productivity and client satisfaction. Funding for the initiative is provided by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, Department of Public Welfare.

"This project underscores the focus by PCPA members on providing the highest quality of mental health and substance abuse treatment services to the citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania," said George Kimes, PCPA executive director.

The PCPA Benchmarking Initiative is being conducted by Paul Lefkovitz, Ph.D., president of Behavioral Pathway Systems, an independent consulting organization that focuses on best practices in behavioral health through process benchmarking techniques.
