Netsmart's Selection as Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Provides Framework for Next Generation of Netsmart's Microsoft-Based Public Health Solutions

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Netsmart Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise-wide software and services for health and human services organizations, today announced it has attained Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status in the Microsoft Partner Program. The announcement was made at the 2008 Annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference & Exhibition in Orlando.

The Microsoft/Netsmart relationship will help bring the newest Microsoft technology to Netsmart's Windows-based Insight public health and Netsmart VR vital records software solutions. Insight is clinic management software used by local public health departments to manage a wide range of programs, including immunizations, adult health, family planning, STD, tuberculosis, lab, records/case management, appointment scheduling, electronic medical records and HIPAA-compliant patient billing. Insight uses Microsoft SQL Server database management technology. Netsmart VR is comprehensive vital records software that manages a wide variety of events for vital records offices.

With the relationship, members of Netsmart's public health and vital records development teams are working with Microsoft developers at Microsoft's regional technology centers to create the path for the next generation public health and vital records solutions.

"Netsmart is proud to be a market leader in public health and vital records, where our software helps public health departments deliver quality care and vital records departments streamline their processes and services," said James L. Conway, chief executive officer, Netsmart Technologies. "This relationship enables us to bring the latest Microsoft technologies into our Microsoft-based software products and reflects our commitment to evolving our solutions to meet customer needs."

"Customers are looking for partner companies that can bridge the gap between their business demands and technology capabilities," said Allison Watson, corporate vice president of the Worldwide Partner Group at Microsoft Corp. "They need to trust in a company that can act as an expert adviser for their long-term strategic technology plans. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners, which have certified expertise and direct training and support from Microsoft, can build a positive customer experience with our technologies. Today, Microsoft recognizes Netsmart Technologies as a new Gold Certified Partner for demonstrating its expertise in providing customer satisfaction using Microsoft products and technology."

The Microsoft Partner Program was launched in October 2003 and represents Microsoft's ongoing commitment to the success of partners worldwide. The program offers a single, integrated partnering framework that recognizes partner expertise, rewards the total impact that partners have in the technology marketplace and delivers more value to help partners' businesses be successful.
