NaTrue-Label: The First 100 Products are Certified

BRUSSELS, February 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Authentic Natural and Organic Cosmetic* products are now identifiable at a glance thanks to the NaTrue Label: the first 100 products have already been certified as of February 1st 2009.

The NaTrue-Label provides orientation for consumers and manufacturers alike by defining transparent and strict criteria for Natural and Organic Cosmetics. It is international, not for profit, open to all manufacturers and guarantees independent certification based on publically accessible criteria.

The criteria were developed by the Scientific Committee of the International Natural Cosmetics Grouping, NaTrue, and first published in May 2008.

The NaTrue-Label is based on the principle of split responsibility: The NaTrue Scientific Committee is guardian of the criteria while independent Label Management Partners manage the certification process by country or region.

Application for certification under the NaTrue-Label is open to all manufacturers since 22. September 2008 and the independent certification bodies report strong interest. Several hundred applications have been made and the first products have now been approved.
