ANN ARBOR, Mich., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- MichBio, the association for Michigan's biosciences industry, is in the process of updating and compiling the 2009 Michigan Biosciences Directory and Resource Guide, the most comprehensive source for information on the state's biosciences companies and organizations. The directory will be included in the May issue of BioMatters Magazine, MichBio's new, bi-annual publication spotlighting Michigan biosciences news and trends.
The directory will be distributed to MichBio's targeted database of biosciences companies and service providers, state and regional funding sources, economic development organizations, universities and research institutions. In addition, it will be made available to a variety of economic development, investment, site selection and other groups essential to industry expansion at the 2009 BIO International Convention in Atlanta, May 18-21. The magazine and directory will be published in both print and CD versions.
"The directory needs to be as complete and inclusive as possible so that it can be as useful as possible," said Stephen Rapundalo, PhD, MichBio president and CEO. "Everyone in our database will receive a company form they need to fill out to be listed in the directory. Those companies that do not receive a form this week, should contact our office or visit our website to download the form."
Companies to be included in the directory are legal entities engaged in:
-- Research, development, manufacturing and/or marketing of therapeutic,
diagnostic, medical device equipment, reagents and research tools
-- Nutriceutical products
-- Informatics and information technology services and products (bio-
and/or healthcare),
-- Bio-agricultural and other bio-based technologies
-- Academic, biomedical and clinical research organizations (including
universities, institutes and hospitals)
