MedPage Today Signs Exclusive Content & Advertising Deal with the American College of Cardiology for Coverage of More Than 20 Major Cardiology Meetings

NEW YORK, March 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Everyday Health, Inc., a leading provider of online health solutions, announced today that its MedPage Today property has established a partnership with the American College of Cardiology (ACC) to provide news coverage from more than 20 major cardiology meetings, and will become the leader in targeted advertising to the cardiology community. The content partnership will be in place at the ACC's 60th Annual Scientific Session & Expo, April 3-5 in New Orleans, the world's premier meeting for the practice of cardiology.

Under the new partnership, ACC and MedPage Today will collaborate to provide robust, in-depth coverage of "On-the-Scene" live coverage of more than 20 top cardiology meetings worldwide, as determined by ACC and MedPage Today editors and officials. Prior to this relationship, had provided news coverage of the four major general cardiology meetings each year.

Meeting coverage under the new MedPage Today-ACC partnership includes plenary sessions, late breakers, posters, press conferences, major clinical study reports and daily breaking news. The partnership allows for video interviews with experts and co-branded meeting news coverage for ACC's website. No other media entity will be able to offer physicians such comprehensive and timely access to news and research findings disseminated at leading cardiology meetings around the globe.

"This exciting new partnership with MedPage Today is an outstanding fit with the ACC's mission to advocate for quality cardiovascular care and to promote the expansion of knowledge in the field of cardiovascular medicine," said Dr. Christopher P. Cannon, M.D., F.A.C.C., and Editor-in-Chief of the Science and Quality section of the website. "MedPage Today and its editors have a distinguished record for expertise and credibility in medical journalism, making this a great partnership to build upon."

MedPage Today is the fastest-growing health professional website and reaches more than one-third of all physicians online (source: comScore.) With the ACC partnership in place and the combination of databases, MedPage Today reaches 96 percent of all cardiologists – making it a leader among professional resources for the cardiology community.

"One of the great advantages of this new arrangement is that MedPage Today is now positioned to expand its high-quality and in-depth coverage of cardiovascular medicine," said Robert Stern, founder of MedPage Today and Publisher, Professional Division, Everyday Health, Inc. (Everyday Health acquired MedPage Today in December 2010.)  "We also are excited about the new opportunities this partnership will allow us to provide to marketers, physicians, health care professionals and others involved in improving patient care."
