RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., June 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Max Neeman International, leading Indian CRO, is part of the prestigious Max Group whose sister-company, Max Healthcare recently had one of 12 hospitals, 'Max Institute of Minimal Access, Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery' accredited as a Center of Excellence (COE) by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), USA.  The institute has become the first center in India to receive the accreditation.

The Institute's medical team is comprised of 45 people led by Dr. Pradeep Chowbey. They bring with them an accumulated experience of over 48,000 laparoscopic and bariatric surgeries spanning over two decades. The team has been at the forefront to develop and expand the frontiers of minimal access surgery in the country and beyond.

Dr. Chowbey, was featured in the Limca Book of Records from 2000 - 2009, for having performed the largest series of laparoscopic biliary surgeries (over 50,000). He has also been awarded the first honorary membership by Asia-Pacific Hernia Society and Gulf Cooperation Council Hernia Society.  The medical team is proud of having had the honor of operating on His Holiness, The Dalai Lama and His Excellency, Shri K R Narayanan, the former President of India.

As the clinical research arm of the Max Group, Max Neeman works in collaboration with Max Institute of Minimal Access, Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery to conduct minimally invasive surgery studies across multiple therapeutic areas.
