MO BIO Laboratories, Inc. Launches PowerWater(R) RNA Isolation Kit
Date:9/23/2009

CARLSBAD, Calif., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- MO BIO Laboratories, Inc., the leader in soil, water and microbial nucleic acid purification, announces the launch of an innovative new product, PowerWater(R) RNA Isolation Kit, designed to isolate high-quality total RNA from a variety of filtered water samples. PowerWater(R) RNA Isolation Kit is expected to be a valuable tool in the developing fields of water safety testing, microbial community analysis and metagenomics.

The PowerWater(R) RNA Isolation Kit is the first kit exclusively designed to isolate RNA from microbes present in environmental water samples including bacteria (both gram + and gram -), fungi and algae. This kit includes our novel PowerWater(R) bead tubes for optimal lysis, our patented Inhibitor Removal Technology(R) (IRT) for better sensitivity in RT-PCR, and it yields RNA of high quality and purity. With IRT, even water containing heavy amounts of contaminants can be processed to provide inhibitor-free RNA. The kit can isolate RNA from common filter membrane types with a protocol that is fast and simple taking less than 40 minutes.

The PowerWater(R) RNA Isolation Kit is available now. For more information visit the MO BIO website (www.mobio.com) or call 800-606-6246 to order.

MO BIO Laboratories, Inc. (www.mobio.com) has developed innovative tools for researchers in Molecular Biology since 1993. A global leader in solutions for soil and microbial nucleic acid purification, MO BIO's Power(R) kits contain patented Inhibitor Removal Technology(R) for removal of PCR inhibiting substances during the nucleic acid purification procedure. For samples that do not require inhibitor removal, MO BIO's UltraClean(R) line includes optimized products for DNA and RNA isolation from a variety of sample types. Also for clinical samples, the BiOstic(TM) kits provide solutions for higher yields and purity of nucleic acids. At MO BIO Laboratories, Inc., our focus is quality products that work, save time and function for all sample types, not just the easy ones. It is MO BIO's aim to make researchers' working lives more productive and efficient, creating time to focus on what is critical, not just in work, but in life.
