MMR Offers Free Surgical Masks to Call Attention to Importance of Personal Health Records in Preparing for Possible Swine Flu Pandemic
Date:4/28/2009

LOS ANGELES, April 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MMR Information Systems (OTC Bulletin Board: MMRF), which through its wholly-owned operating subsidiary, MyMedicalRecords, Inc. (collectively, "MMR") provides Web-based consumer-controlled Personal Health Records ("PHRs") (www.mymedicalrecords.com) and electronic safe deposit box storage solutions (www.myesafedepositbox.com), is offering a free Personal Health Record and free surgical masks as a way to help consumers cope with and prepare for the possibility of a Swine Flu Pandemic.

In the last two days, the United States government declared a nationwide public health emergency followed by the World Health Organization's announcement that it had raised its pandemic alert level as cases of the flu spread to multiple countries.

"The threat of a Swine Flu pandemic serves as a timely and urgent reminder why people need to have a Personal Health Record," said Robert H. Lorsch, Chairman and CEO of MMR Information Systems, Inc. "In an emergency situation when decisions need to be made quickly, having all of one's medical information in one secure location, where it can be immediately accessed and shared with medical personnel, can mean the difference between life and death. The Obama Stimulus Package allocated $19 billion in funds to accelerate widespread adoption of electronic medical records, citing their use in helping to reduce medical errors and save lives, and this threat provides a heightened sense of that need."

Because information-sharing is a critical element of any emergency and disaster preparedness program, MyMedicalRecords features a special Emergency portal that enables doctors and medical personnel to access a patient's critical medical information, such as prescriptions, allergies and blood type, and also identify
