BRUSSELS, Belgium, October 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the establishment of their Industrial Management Board, the European Technology Platform for Micro- and Nanomanufacturing (MINAM) is happy to announce its official launch event to be held in January 2008. Chair Prof. Paolo Matteazzi of M.B.N Nanomaterialia, the board members Mr Manfred Diehl of Umicore, Dr Jalba of Microelectronica and Mrs Andrea Reinhardt of microTEC look forward to a very successful meeting. In October 2007, MINAM will launch a new interactive website, offering easy to use tools for technology brokerage and latest technology roadmaps http://www.minamwebportal.eu .SME, industry, research and education institutions are invited to check out new technologies, find partners and get assistance to prepare their proposals for the coming EC FP7 NMT 2nd call, which will be published in November 2007.
At MINAM more than 400 stakeholders today are contributing to orient the R&D excellence in Europe towards a fast transfer of results into industrial production technologies and applications. The platform is supported by the EC and its projects microsapient, IPMMAN and 4M and is linked to the umbrella of Manufuture http://www.manufuture.org MINAM is an open community, the goal is to speed up the successful implementation of new technologies, encourage the coordination of industrially focused R&D and the fast transfer from laboratory to industry in a socially acceptable manner. The official MINAM launch event will be combined with a 2nd brokerage day, building on the successful experience of the first brokerage event coordinated by the platform in January 2007, at which 20 proposals were presented to 133 attendees.
