Live Xtalks Webinar Highlights Vaccine and Biotherapeutic Formulation Development and Manufacture Using Spray-Drying
Date:6/24/2013

Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) June 24, 2013

The pharmaceutical industry has increasingly focused on the formulation of vaccines and biotherapeutics, especially by spray-drying. Spray-drying is being pursued as a promising alternative to lyophilization for vaccines and biotherapeutic formulations due to the inherent robustness and efficiency of the technology, as well as the ability to produce particles with desirable and reproducible properties. Solid-state stabilization for ambient compound storage, high-concentration protein processing, and parenteral or inhalation delivery have attracted specific interest.

This webinar will discuss current approaches in the design, testing, and manufacture of spray-dried powder formulations. Leading experts from Bend Research Inc. will discuss case studies that highlight new breakthroughs in this area.

Formulation design and spray-drying process parameters will be discussed, focusing on product specifications. The utility of solid-state characterization tools such as differential scanning calorimetry, vapor sorption, and x-ray diffraction will be presented.
