LabArchives Integrates with Microsoft Office Online to Increase Workflow Productivity

LabArchives, a leading cloud-based Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) in higher education research and instruction, announced today an integration with Microsoft Office Online to provide principal investigators, instructors, and students around the world with an improved integrated user experience.

This integration enables 180,000 LabArchives users around the world to create, edit, and view Office documents from the LabArchives ELN platform. All LabArchives customers with Office Online will have access to this feature by July 15, 2017. The full integration of Office Online brings a more efficient workflow experience to LabArchives users in the research lab and in the classroom. Lab course instructors and students, and lab researchers will be able to use the combined unique features and capabilities of LabArchives with Microsoft Word documents, Microsoft Excel Files, and Microsoft Powerpoint presentations.

The LabArchives integration with Office Online provides several points of interoperability that make using Office Online with LabArchives seamless:

  • Create, edit, and view Office documents directly within your LabArchives notebook using Office Online.
  • Supports the native Office formats for improved display of graphs, embedded images and unique features of Office.
  • Leverage the simultaneous editing features of Office Online to collaborate within LabArchives?.
  • Submit files directly from Office Online into ?LabArchives secure data store with other file types.
  • Leverage LabArchives workflow tools while using familiar Office Online tools.

LabArchives is an approved Internet2 NET+ service provider. The Internet2 NET+ program facilitates a rigorous service validation process led by universities, which ensures cloud services meet the research and education community's business, technical, legal, and compliance requirements.
