LS9's UltraClean Diesel Exceeds United States & Brazilian Fuels Specifications

Continuing its rapid progress toward commercialization of advanced biofuels, LS9, the Renewable Petroleum Company™, today announced that its UltraClean™ Diesel product exceeds American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D6751 and Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum ANP-7 specifications.

South San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) July 20, 2009 -- Continuing its rapid progress toward commercialization of advanced biofuels, LS9, the Renewable Petroleum Company™, today announced that its UltraClean™ Diesel product exceeds American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D6751 and Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum ANP-7 specifications.

A series of third-party tests confirms LS9's UltraClean™ Diesel meets the regulatory criteria needed for use in vehicles on American and Brazilian roads today. These tests also indicate that LS9 UltraClean™ Diesel overcomes key environmental and operational challenges associated with conventional diesel and biodiesel products.

LS9 UltraClean™ Diesel offers significant benefits over other diesel replacement products. Production of LS9 UltraClean™ Diesel provides an 85% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions when compared to conventional fuel production. In addition, LS9 UltraClean™ Diesel contains no carcinogens, such as benzene and only trace amounts of sulfur.

LS9's technology also makes it possible to create superior products that can uniquely achieve optimal overall performance. LS9 has demonstrated its ability to modify the genetic makeup of its microorganisms and precisely tailor LS9 end products to have improved fuel properties such as cetane, volatility, oxidative stability and cold-flow.
