IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- It's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and that means one thing – doing your part to bring awareness, education and fundraising to the forefront. LCS Constructors, Inc. (LCS) decided it was time to do their part and participated for the first time in the Susan G. Komen Orange County Race for the Cure 5K Walk/Run held on Sunday, September 26, 2010 in Newport Beach, California. With a turnout of over 24,000 participants and raising approximately $2.7 million, it was a successful event with fundraising efforts continuing throughout the month of October.

Skinner, "and it is rewarding to not only be a part of building facilities for cancer research, but also support the research in the overall fight against breast cancer." However, most notably for LCS, one of their team members was in her own battle against breast cancer; Maggi, a Senior Project Engineer for LCS, was diagnosed in 2009 and has fought a successful battle to overcome the disease. "It was really difficult to see one of our own team members going through this battle," Skinner says.
Maggi is a highly talented and kind woman, who works hard in all aspects of her life. Since college, she has completed beautiful design-build work for private, wealthy clients, although "nothing has been as satisfying as building a quality laboratory and technical facility that helps the scientists, technicians, and corporate staff to have a facility that is highly functional and attractive at a reasonable cost," states Maggi. Since joining LCS, she has worked diligently building labs and administrative offices for a number of clients, including Quest Diagnostics an
