Kidney Cancer Association and Stanford University Faculty Collaborate on Patient Education

Held at the Stanford Cancer Center, the event provides newly diagnosed patients with an overview of the disease and its treatment. Survivors will find information about the management of drug side effects, as well as updates on the state-of-the-art with respect to newer therapies.

“We’re grateful to Dr. Sandy Srinivas for organizing this educational opportunity,” says KCA CEO Bill Bro, a 25-year survivor of kidney cancer. “Sandy and her colleagues have put together a program that balances the needs of those recently diagnosed with those of patients on continued therapy for advanced disease. There’s no question that people are living longer than ever before, while dealing with kidney cancer.”

A panel discussion and lunchtime breakout sessions will provide opportunities for patients to ask questions and meet other families that are coping with a loved one’s kidney cancer. Reservations are limited and may be made online.

KCA is a charitable organization made up of patients, family members, physicians, researchers, and other health professionals globally. It is the world’s first international charity dedicated specifically to the eradication of death and suffering from renal cancers. It is also by far the largest organization of its kind, with members in more than 100 countries.
