JULABO Announces Easy Flow Measurement with VFCpro and PRESTO®
Date:7/11/2013

(PRWEB) July 11, 2013

JULABO launches a revolutionary accessory for the new PRESTO highly dynamic temperature control systems. With the VFCpro the PRESTO can measure and control fluid flow within a loop circuit.

This capability opens completely new application possibilities for liquid temperature control systems. A defined flow rate can be kept constant while simultaneously controlling the temperature. For example: a scientist can determine the flow rate of the bath liquid managing the temperature of a jacketed reactor. This makes the flow measurement ideal for scientific and industrial applications.

In combination with a PRESTO, the VFCpro can determine approximate calorimetric values. The PRESTO displays real time measurements of heating / cooling capacity (kW), flow rate (L/min) and calorimetric work (kWh). EasyTEMP Professional software by JULABO can be used for post-experiment data evaluation. An example of this would be an analysis of heat evolution or safety analysis for the scale-up of a chemical process from small laboratory scale to large kilo-lab / production scale.

The VFCpro achieves accuracies of up to 6% and presents an economic calorimetric alternative; especially in cases where the purchase of a precision calorimeter is prohibitive. In addition the operator follows a simple operating protocol with no intense equipment or software training necessary. The flexibility of the VFCpro
