InterMune Reports Japanese Regulatory Approval of Pirfenidone in IPF

affect lung function and disease progression in patients with IPF. In these clinical studies, pirfenidone was generally well tolerated with the most frequent side effects reported being photosensitivity rash and gastrointestinal symptoms.
