Date:7/13/2009

BEDFORD, Mass., July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Instrumentation Laboratory (IL) today announced it will present the "Passion & Results" Award to three recipients at the upcoming Congress for the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) and at the Annual Meeting for the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC), held in Boston, MA on July 11-16 and Chicago, IL on July 19-23 respectively. Launched in July 2008 as a part of IL's 50th anniversary celebration program, the "Passion & Results" Award was established to honor healthcare providers who have demonstrated true passion for their profession, resulting in improved patient care.

For the past year, IL has embarked on a coordinated global promotional campaign to encourage nominations -- resulting in a rich collection of compelling stories from healthcare professionals worldwide. Three nominees truly exemplify uncommon effort and energy and were chosen by the "ILeader Panel" to receive an award plus a $2,000 educational grant for their institution in recognition of their 'passion and results.'

Two winners will be honored with the award during an in-booth ceremony at the ISTH (IL Booth #315) on July 13th at 3:00 PM and July 14th at 2:00 PM. The third winner will be honored at the AACC (IL Booth #2048) on July 21 at 1:00 PM.

"We are truly grateful that so many healthcare professionals have chosen to share their remarkable stories, and those of their colleagues, giving us a window into the dedication and drive they bring to patient care every day," said Josep Manent, CEO at IL. "We look forward to honoring our winners, and showcasing their accomplishments, as we continue to celebrate our 50th anniversary."

Ramon Benet, Vice President of Worldwide Marketing and US Sales and Service at IL, added, "The individuals we chose truly embody the spirit of the award and reflect the values we bring to the industry in
