Informed Medical Communications Adopts Newly Enhanced Compliance Policy

EDISON, N.J., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Informed Medical Communications (IMC), a leading provider of peer-to-peer medical forums for the bio-pharmaceutical industry, today announced adoption of an enhanced compliance policy and the appointment of Dr. Jaime Nguyen as Medical Director/ Compliance Officer (CO). The policy specifically outlines the role of the CO as well as methods for handling written policies/procedures, training/education, internal monitoring/auditing, reporting/lines of communication, and prompt response and corrective action for violations and detected problems. "The changes reflect IMC's commitment to compliance with the laws, regulations, and guidelines that govern pharmaceutical promotional and marketing activities," said Steve Budd, CEO of IMC. "Our ongoing investment in this critical competency will enable us to partner more closely with our clients to ensure that the medical communications programs we execute on their behalf meet the highest standards for promotional compliance."

Dr. Nguyen was appointed to this position following two years of distinguished service as a moderator on numerous IMC programs. Nguyen holds an MD from MSIH and Columbia University Medical Center, an MPH from the University of Pittsburgh, and an MS in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology from the University of Toledo. Additionally, Nguyen is a certified Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Medical Device Compliance Officer. Prior to joining IMC in 2006, Nguyen had over 10 years of experience in the areas of pharmacology and drug design, medicine and public health, and healthcare analysis. She also held numerous international clinical leadership roles across multiple therapeutic areas and served on two federal advisory committees while working for the Department of Health and Human Services.
