Indiana Continues to Make Its Mark as a Leading Life Sciences Center

U.S. employment in the biosciences is growing and reached 1.42 million in 2008 (the year used for the data in the report), up from 1.3 million in 2006, and growing by 1.4 percent while total private sector employment declined by 0.7 percent.   More than 8 million jobs are driven by the biosciences sector, for an employment multiplier effect of 5.8 jobs per 1 bioscience job.
