InVigor® Canola Supports Langdon Day Care Center with More for Everyone Award

The next time dark storm clouds form or tornado sirens sound, children at the Landgon Day Care Center can take shelter in their new basement, thanks to a donation from InVigor canola.

The day care received a $5,000 donation from Bayer CropScience through the InVigor canola More for Everyone program. The day care will build an addition with the donation that will include a basement and additional classrooms.

“This award allows us to build a weather shelter, and the additional classroom space will allow us to divide the children into age groups, allowing us to continue serving children of all ages,” says Jackie Thom with the Langdon Day Care Center.

The day care is required to separate age groups by 2015 or stop serving certain age groups of children. With the new addition, the day care can continue to serve up to 60 children in the community.

A presentation awarding the day care with the More for Everyone donation was held at the Langdon Day Care Center June 27. Kyle Rollness, regional sale representative with Bayer CropScience joined area canola growers to present the award, one of 12 awards with donations totaling $32,000, to non-profit organizations across the state this year.

In the program’s three-year lifetime, Bayer CropScience has awarded more than $87,000 to local groups nominated by canola farmers.
