Le autorità sanitarie canadesi, sulla base dei benefici probiotici appurati, avevano già concesso a questi prodotti indicazioni sulla salute come, ad esempio, "Probiotico di beneficio per la salute e/o che conferisce benefici sanitari," oppure "Probiotico che contribuisce al naturale sviluppo di una flora intestinale sana."
