INRA-MetaGenoPolis développe la métagénomique avec ParStream

Leader mondial de la métagénomique humaine, pionnier du «big data»

ParStream, éditeur d'une plateforme innovante et primée de «Big Data Analytics» et MetaGenoPolis, le démonstrateur pré-industriel de l'INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique), leader mondial dans le domaine de la métagénomique humaine, annoncent le choix de ParStream pour supporter une nouvelle génération d'outils informatiques de biotechnologie haut-débit.

L'INRA coordonne et héberge MetaGenoPolis, un dispositif unique en Europe au service de la communauté médicale, scientifique et industrielle. Sous la direction de Stanislav Dusko Ehrlich, expert mondial en microbiologie et pionnier de la métagénomique, l'équipe effectue des découvertes majeures et reconnues au niveau international. Ces recherches ouvrent la voie aux diagnostics précoces et à des thérapies nouvelles de nombreuses maladies telles que le diabète, l'obésité et plus généralement des maladies métaboliques associées à notre système digestif.

Elles étudient un «organe» méconnu : le microbiote intestinal, ces milliards de bactéries qui peuplent notre tube digestif.

L'étude du microbiote nécessite une investigation massive- des milliards de séquences d'ADN bactérien sont compulsées et associées. L'analyse des échantillons peut se faire selon deux points de vue complémentaires au sein de MetaGenoPolis : selon l'approche exploratoire globale de séquençage sur la plateforme d'analyse MetaQuant ou selon leurs propriétés biologiques en interaction avec l'hôte sur la plateforme d'analyse MetaFun.
