IGEN Networks Corp. announces new Board member and the cancellation of three million shares for return to treasury

LAS VEGAS, May 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Mr. Richard Gilbertson reports:

IGEN Networks Corp. is pleased to announce that Chris Shade has been appointed a member of the Board of Directors and will represent IGEN as CEO of Canadian operations. IGEN is positioned to joint venture with a First Nations Canadian corporation and is proceeding to acquire broadband licenses in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Chris has a strong university academic background in accounting and management. He held the position as Chief of the Blood Tribe from 1996 to 2004. Chris is currently a board member with the Alberta Indian Investment Corporation and Director with Wingate Hotel in Edmonton. He is a former Chairman of the National Aboriginal Capital Corporation Association, Director on the National Finance Management Board as well as various corporate and governmental boards, including the Chiefs Committee on Land Claims and Chiefs Committee on Health. He was a Grand Chief for Treaty 7 as well as a spokesman for the Blackfoot Confederacy.

IGEN has also approved the cancellation of 3,000,000 shares that were previously approved for the acquisition of Bio Business Development Corp. International Inc. under to the memorandum of understanding announced on March 31, 2010. The shares will be returned to the treasury, significantly improving our capitalization structure and positioning IGEN to better represent our commitment to becoming a world leader in rural broadband communications.
