Boam to address venture capitalists and venture-backed companies on the

present and future FDA regulation of medical devices

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn., and Massapequa, N.Y., March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Conference organizer International Business Forum (IBF) and LifeScience Alley, a Minneapolis trade association of medical device and other biotechnology firms, today announced that Ashley Boam, Acting Deputy Director for Science and Review Policy, Office of Device Evaluation at the Center for Devices and Radiological Health at FDA, will join the lineup of speakers at the 7th Annual MedTech Investing Conference (http://www.medtechconference.com) taking place at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Boam will be interviewed by legal/regulatory firm DuVal & Associates President, Mark DuVal on the future of FDA's regulation of medical devices, clinical trials and approval requirements. They will discuss how FDA's changing requirements can impact the timeline to approval for medical devices and how that could impact the amount of investments in devices going forward.

This Fireside Chat is scheduled for 11:00 am on Thursday, May 14th, the second day of the conference. It will be the first time Ms. Boam presents at the MedTech Investing Conference which happens to be the premier event for medical device investors and entrepreneurs from around the nation.
