I dati presentati a Global Addiction generano preoccupazione relativamente all'efficacia delle attuali misure per il trattamento della dipendenza da oppioidi

Per la prima volta dalla sua inaugurazione, i principali legislatori e specialisti medici si incontrano a Global Addiction  per parlare delle conseguenze indesiderate delle cure insufficienti e dei modelli dei futuri esiti del trattamento della dipendenza da stupefacenti

I risultati della Verifica europea sulla qualità delle cure per la dipendenza da oppioidi (European Quality Audit of Opioid Treatment, EQUATOR) sono stati presentati oggi in occasione di Global Addiction 2013 e fanno sorgere domande sulle differenze tra i sistemi di erogazione delle terapie in Europa che potrebbero contribuire alle probabilità di successo della cura.[1] I dati hanno mostrato che gli attuali sistemi di terapia non stanno conseguendo gli esiti desiderati sul fronte del trattamento farmacologico (medication assisted treatment, MAT) e ne manca l'ottimizzazione per ottenere la guarigione di chi dipende dagli oppioidi.[1]

La Strategia europea contro le droghe 2013 - 2020, pubblicata alla fine dello scorso anno, lancia un appello per un maggiore accesso a terapie antidroga più varie (ad es. oppioidi soggetti a prescrizione medica), la riabilitazione e il sostegno sociale, la scelta informata del paziente, la riduzione del numero di morti imputabili agli stupefacenti in Europa, la riduzione dell'abuso di farmaci soggetti a prescrizione medica (ad es. oppioidi soggetti a prescrizione medica) e la reintegrazione sociale e la guarigione.[2] I dati presentati a Global Addiction sottolineano le importanti misure ancora necessarie per raggiungere gli ambiziosi obiettivi esposti nella Strategia contro le droghe.

Ecco i principali risultati:
