How to Create Better Investment Strategies in a New Economic Environment

SEATTLE, April 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Silicon Valley Bank, the parent company of SVB Asset Management and financial partner to technology and life science companies worldwide, invites treasurers and CFOs of Seattle area technology and life science companies to participate in an education session on best practices for corporate cash investment strategies on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 from 8:00-11:45 a.m.

"The state of the economy has significantly revised the plans, and in some cases the roles of most corporate cash managers. With entirely new levels of investment transparency, risk oversight, and asset manager accountability at their disposal, it is a great time to reassess investment strategies," said Adam Dean, President of SVB Asset Management, a non-bank affiliate of Silicon Valley Bank with more than $5.6 billion under management. "We manage cash investments for hundreds of technology and life science companies and recognize the needs of many managers to step back occasionally and think broadly about their investment policies and strategies. This event will give many companies that opportunity."

Adam Dean, president, and Joe Morgan, Chief Investment Officer, of SVB Asset Management will specifically address several actionable topics for technology company treasury departments:

  • Improve treasury professionals' ability to assess and communicate their investment strategy, risks, and expected returns with a comprehensive review process
  • Minimize unknown risks by creating a risk framework
  • Create and update a successful credit monitoring processes geared specifically toward corporate cash management
  • Develop and implement an appropriate investment strategy accounting for all market influences
  • Formulate an investment policy that leverages these tools

Interested treasurers and CFOs may get more detailed information and register for this event online.

It will be held at the Columbia Tower Club free of charge. Attendees are also eligible for 3.5 Association for Financial Professionals CTP re-certification credits.
