Wayne, NJ (PRWEB) February 18, 2013

2013 marks the 110 year anniversary of H-B Instrument, manufacturing and globally supplying temperature, density, weather, and time instruments to the scientific, industrial and healthcare markets. When asked about the longevity of the company, Ed Hiergesell, company President and son of Valentine Hiergesell noted that "in 1903 when William, Frank and Valentine Hiergesell founded the originally named ‘Hiergesell Brothers’ in Philadelphia, they believed that the demands of industry could be better served by one reliable source that could provide well made, accurate thermometers, hydrometers and related products. H-B employees have embraced that commitment and continue to take great pride in the products that bear our name. Today H-B Instrument has many employees with 20+ years of experience serving as great mentors to the organization.

Ed Hiergesell grew up working in the business and in 1984 purchased H-B Instrument. Shortly thereafter Ed moved operations to a larger campus in Trappe, PA just a short distance from its Philadelphia roots. While quality remained at the heart of manufacturing, H-B Instrument changed with the times. In 1990 the H-B team made a commitment to a leadership role in environmental stewardship, phasing out mercury thermometers, introducing the world’s only liquid-in-glass independently certified ‘EnviroKleen’ thermometers, offering a mercury exchange program and achieving ISO 14001 (environmental) accreditations. In addition, in 1994 an ISO 17025 (A2LA) Calibration laboratory was established

On June 1, 2012 H-B Instrument was acquired by privately owned Bel-Art Products, providin
