"This alliance demonstrates the trend we see across the globe: Governments are increasingly deploying AEDs in public buildings to save lives," said Dave Marver, Cardiac Science president and chief executive officer. "We are proud that the Hong Kong Department of Health has chosen Cardiac Science AEDs to combat sudden cardiac arrest (SCA)."

The units, which will be fully deployed by year's end, will be available for medical professionals in government medical clinics throughout the region. Pacific Medical Systems Limited, Cardiac Science's exclusive distribution partner in Hong Kong, worked closely with the DH to secure the agreement.

"We applaud Pacific Medical Systems Limited for this flagship agreement and recognize our partner's value in the region," added Marver.

"We are glad that the Hong Kong Department of Health is deploying AEDs to create heart safe environments for citizens of its city, and we are pleased to have an increased presence in the Asia-Pac region through our trusted distribution partner Pacific Medical Systems Limited. This order is one of our first large deployments in this region," said Vinod Ramnani, Chairman and Managing Director, Opto Circuits.

The Powerheart® AED G3 Pro is a fully equipped AED for medical professionals and features a color display, 3-lead ECG monitoring capability, and manual defibrillation override.
