"I have already begun applying for teaching positions, and hope to begin working as an educator as soon as possible," said Wince, a master's student at Florida's Midwestern State University. "My goal is simple – to continue sharing my passion for the profession with radiologic technology students."

Wince is one of 10 scholarship recipients of the ASRT Education and Research Foundation's 2010 Professional Advancement Scholarships.

HEALTHeCAREERS Network helps fund these scholarships that are administered by the charitable arm of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). The association's $15,000 scholarship total is divided into $1,500 awards that are given to undergraduate or graduate students completing a degree in radiologic sciences.

"HEALTHeCAREERS is proud to support ASRT's educational efforts and 136,000 members," said Jennifer Arocha, senior director of healthcare product management at onTargetjobs, the parent company of HEALTHeCAREERS Network. "We offer employment solutions that span the medical industry and are excited to fund awards for qualified professionals on the cutting edge of their field."

Other 2010 scholarship winners include:

  • Robert P. Cahalan; Ashford University.
  • Kacie R. Craig; Drury University.
