Greenway Medical Technologies Plays Leading Role in Interoperability Demonstrations at Seventh Annual Public Health Information Network (PHIN) Conference
Date:9/10/2009

re. Green advocated the innovation of leading EHR providers and how they will play a key role in improving population health through advancements in clinical research. Greenway's PrimeResearch(TM) solution provides access to a vast network of research; quality and safety initiatives; and composite (clinical and financial) analytics that can lead to more efficient processes, improved patient care and increased practice revenue.

Along with Green's speech, Greenway participated in six interoperability demonstrations at the PHIN Conference. Two of the key demonstrations focused on biosurveillance and showcased the ability of Greenway's flagship EHR solution, PrimeSuite(R), to interoperate and electronically exchange patient health information from participating medical practices with public health registries. Rapidly spreading diseases such as flu epidemics, hepatitis B and salmonella outbreaks can be reported through PrimeSuite from participating medical practices to public health authorities, which can immediately red flag any anomalies or potential outbreaks. If necessary, these registries will report the outbreak and raise awareness to health centers within the affected communities.

Additionally, PrimeSuite's CDC-based immunization schedule and forecast module was showcased at an immunization demonstration where it interoperated with population-based Immunization Information Systems (IIS). This standards-based exchange is the premier demonstration of the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise's (IHE) Immunization Content (IC) profile, exhibiting the transmission and reception of document-based immunization records. PrimeSuite was also used in a cancer registry demonstration, an emergency responder demonstration and a demonstration on patient safety reporting scenarios.

"Every minute, the need for interoperability grows in importance and relevance for our country and c
