Gore's Legacy of Innovation Extends From Products to Processes

Gore PharmBIO Products Launches Unique Online Configurator For the

Bioprocess Industry

ELKTON, Md., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Gore PharmBIO Products has launched an industry first -- an online interactive design tool that provides step-by-step instructions for designing and configuring fluid assemblies for biopharmaceutical manufacturers.

The GORE(TM) STA-PURE(SM) Bioprocess Configurator is unique to the bioprocess industry. Available at, the Configurator simplifies fluid assembly design minimizing the RFQ process and enabling customers to get product to market quicker.

"Gore has a legacy and reputation for partnering with customers on product solutions across a variety of industries and categories," said Greg Tronto, Business Leader, Single Use Bioprocess Components. "With the launch of the GORE(TM) STA-PURE(SM) Bioprocess Configurator -- an innovative online process solution in fluid assembly -- we're leveraging a unique business opportunity to help our customers with a common process challenge."

Users can take an interactive tour to learn more about the Bioprocess Configurator, then proceed to a streamlined step-by-step process that includes a customizable drag and drop interface. Gore PharmBIO Products' extensive experience and knowledge within the industry has resulted in a wealth of data and technical information easily sorted and accessed for fluid assembly configuration, providing product and property selection to meet the specific needs of the customer. This greatly reduces the RFQ process by allowing process engineers to create designs within minutes and modify designs once submitted.

"Speed-to-market is a critical factor in the biopharmaceutical industry," says Tronto. "The GORE(TM) STA-PURE(SM) Bioprocess Configurator enables customers to minimize fluid assembly system design time while also providing fully-customizable options for designs specific to various process needs. By minimizing the design time, our customers can deliver product and go to market quicker."

The GORE(TM) STA-PURE(SM) Bioprocess Configurator also provides design and technical support from Gore engineers. The drag and drop interface allows users to select product from a product palette and drop into the workspace. As materials are added, the interface determines whether the materials and products are compatible. Products include everything from tubing and hoses to unions, junctions, ends and connectors as well as a variety of peripherals. Gore PharmBIO Products' experienced engineers review the drawing and offer suggestions to improve the assembly design, cost and/or lead times using standard parts where available.
