Gentiva Reports Fourth Quarter and Fiscal 2008 Results

ng the fiscal year 2008 period, the Company recorded a pre-tax gain, net of transaction costs, of $107.9 million and an income tax benefit of approximately $1.6 million relating to the sale of a majority interest in its CareCentrix unit. The CareCentrix transaction generated a capital loss carryforward for federal tax purposes. Excluding the impact of the CareCentrix transaction, the Company's effective tax rate would have been 41.4% for fiscal year 2008.
