Date:4/23/2009

EVRY, France, April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2009 edition of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) Conference and Exhibition will take place in Atlanta from May 18th-20th. Genopole(R) will participate in this major event as part of a delegation from the Paris Ile-de-France Region. Seven of Genopole(R)'s innovative companies (BioQuanta, Drugabilis, GenOptics, Innavirvax, Texcell, Watchfrog and Xentech) and the I-Stem research lab will, attend.

The annual BIO show attracts most of the global stakeholders in the biotech sector and is an event that a biopark like Genopole(R) cannot afford to miss! Since Genopole(R)'s creation in 1998, the cluster has been a regular attendee at an event that delivers true international visibility.

The Paris Ile-de-France region's key biotech players will be well represented at BIO 2009. Alongside the Paris Region Economic Development Agency (ARD), the Genopole(R) Biopark and the Medicen Bio Region will each accompany 7 companies. The Biocitech, Paris Biopark and Cancer Campus bioparks have also joined the delegation.

Genopole(R) members BioQuanta, Drugabilis, GenOptics, Innavirvax, Texcell, Watchfrog and Xentech will be attending BIO this year. "The event is a great opportunity for our companies to present their products, expertise and know-how. The business conventions, seminar sessions and forums are all vectors for meeting future partners and clients", explained Eric Lameignere (Director, Genopole(R) Entreprises).

Resource sharing is a key development theme for bioparks. Naceur Tounekti (Director, Genopole Infrastructure) will give a talk on this subject during the session entitled "Bio-Manufacturing and High-Tech Facilities: How to Share Tools Between Bio-Regions?" (Tuesday May 19th, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm- Room B312-Building B).

As a prelude to BIO, the third edition of the "Fast-Track R&D Partnering with France" event
