Genomics Data Management Leader Annai Systems Offers Shortcut to Analysis
Date:3/14/2013

Los Gatos, CA (PRWEB) March 14, 2013

Genomics data management leader Annai Systems is the architect of the Cancer Genomics Hub (CGHub), a repository for genomic data from major research initiatives of the National Cancer Institute. The company has worked closely with the research community to optimize the accessibility and usability of this unique collection of data on tumor genomes.

“Researchers told us how often they struggle just to take the first steps in their necessary research process. Isolating and focusing on specific genes, or other DNA sequences from CGHub for study and analysis, posed a challenge.” said Dan Maltbie, Chief Technology Officer at Annai Systems. “By eliminating or consolidating several of these steps, GTFuse vastly simplifies and accelerates the initiation of research.”

GTFuse extends the advantages of an earlier Annai Systems' innovation, Gene Torrent. Gene Torrent enables high speed segmentation and transfer of genomics that are widely used by researchers to upload or download complete data files, to and from CGHub. By mobilizing additional technologies for indexing, searching, securing, and selectively accessing big data, GTFuse now permits researchers whose interests are focused on specific segments of these massive files, to leapfrog a data-intensive downloading step. With GTFuse, now researchers may apply their analysis directly to those segments of interest just as they reside in the files of CGHub. Not only does GTFuse decrease the amount of time researchers spend on analysis, the solution also helps preserve major IT resources.
