Gateway Genomics Announces Expanding Office and Research Space to Accommodate Increased Demand for SneakPeek DNA Test
Date:5/14/2019

Gateway Genomics, a leading developer of prenatal and pediatric genetic tests, announces an office expansion, effectively doubling its space from 2,500 to 5,000 square feet.

“This past year has seen exponential growth for the sales of our SneakPeek Early Gender DNA tests,” says Gateway Genomics CEO, Chris Jacob. “The SneakPeek At-Home test, which is mailed directly to our customers who self-collect a blood sample and mail it back to our labs, has doubled in revenue, both domestically and in Canada and the UK. SneakPeek Clinical, which is administered by a health professional, is now offered in more than 250 medical facilities in the United States. This puts us in the great position of having to acquire additional space to accommodate increased lab throughput and staff headcount.”

The office expansion enables better shipping and delivery staging for the company, which packages and sends SneakPeek test kits directly to its at-home customers and clinical partners. It also triples the size of the on-site SneakPeek Lab, which operates six days a week and now has the capacity to process 300,000 tests annually.

“2019 and 2020 promise to be pivotal years for the company,” continues Mr. Jacob. “We’re exploring offering SneakPeek in Australia, New Zealand, and additional countries in Europe. More than 250 facilities in the U.S. now offer SneakPeek Clinical, and many more locations are being added on a monthly basis. Additionally, we will be finalizing years of research to launch our next generation of products that will let families gain insight into the characteristics of their future child. Our expanded facility will provide more space for collaboration and innovation as we introduce new products and grow our team.”

The company remains in its La Jolla, California location, effectively expanding into an adjoining office. The larger space is equipped to support projected sales growth through 2020, with expanded production capacity, lab facilities, and office staff.

Gateway Genomics will be in booth #139 at the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) annual meeting in Washington, D.C. to present the SneakPeek Clinical test from May 19-21. For more information, visit http://www.gatewaygenomics.org/events.
